The teachers we got are also very great! We got Mato from Monday - Wednesday and Margaret for Thursday and Friday. Both teachers are very different but both do their job very well! My knowledge about English grammar is better than before, because I've been learning every day.
Well, our teacher Margaret asked the class, who would like to prepare a guidingtour thorugh Aarau. I was the only one ^^
On Tuesday I was walking around Aarau and looking for a good tour. I decided to show my classmates a part of Aarau, which still looks like in the middleage. My classmates and Margaret
didnt know this part of Aarau. They all were surprised about the beauty of this part. All were very happy too see it! All said, that it was an amazing tour and that I made my job very well! I'm so happy about the positive feedback! ^^
I started the tour in frotn of our school building, the '

is beautiful building is called City Market. It is THE shopping metropole in Aarau. And a very good language school is also in it. The school is called LINGUA NOVA. ;-) You have some of the best shops in it and you'll find only very friendly shop assistants! But, these are just the words you'll find on their webpage. On Monday I went into the Dosenbach and no one said hello.
Lulzim: 'Yes! The shopassistants arent very nice! And sometimes im thinking, why do they work there? Some looks very angry!' ...
Pärkli - the little park
Aarau was foundet in about 1240 by the Kyburgers. In 1798, the first year of the helvetic republic, Aarau becamethe first capitol city of Switzerland. But only from March til September. :-)
Since 1803 is Aarau the cantons capitol city.
Johann Heinrich Daniel Tschokke also known as Johann von Magdeburg He was born on the 22. March 1771 and died in the 27. June 1848. He was a writer and padagouge and did a lot for the schoolsystem in Switzerland, in Aarau. He grew up in Germany and went to France and Switzerland, where he got the Swiss Pass. He lived and died in Aarau.
Schlössli - the little castle
In 1200 the 'Schlössli' was errected. The big stones you see is called megaltih. The whole castle is built with megalith. Nothing on the 'Schlössli' has canged - maybe the windows ;-) It is still like it was in 1200. It is the oldest still standing builing of Aarau and it seems in a good condition. ^_^
Today is the museum of Aarau in the 'Schlössli'. In front of it is a very cool sign post. One one side is "Heimat" and on the other side is "Museum". Maggy wanted to take the sign post home. But she couldnt, it was locked there v_v poor Maggy.
We went down to the watermill.
Altstadt - Old town
This part of Aarau still looks like in the 16th century, when it was errected. Between the 16th and 18th century almost all buildings had been removed or changed in the ones which you can see today.
The Curch
The church had been built between 1471 and 1478. While the reformation was going on, in 1528, the 12 which were fixed outside the church, have been damaged. Thats the reason why you cant see ones ;-)altars and the pictures, the ones
Wappen of Aarau
The wappon from 1270 showd an eagle and a threeleafed tree with blossoms. In 1470 the tree was removed. It was changed into the red shield. They choosed an eagle maybe because of an old folksmyth dialect which said 'Au des Aars'.
Gabels
Now we are going to enter one of the mos famous and beautiful parts of Aarau. All toursts wants to see it - and maybe you too?
classmates: 'Yes! Of course!'
Great! We just have to go straight ahead. And know, please focus your view up to the sky! Do all of you see the beautiful painted gables? Please enjoy this view... absorb it! But be careful where you walk when you look at the gables, or maybe a car will hit you. o.O
Does anybody know, how much painted gables are there?
classmates: '61?', '150?' 'about 1500?'...
No. There are exactly 70 of these beautiful gables!
Does anyone know, how Aarau is called sometimes in tourists guides? No? Its called 'city of beautiful gables'.
